2017 has been quite the year for Chad Male. The Cape Cub frontman has played sell out headline tours across the UK, and supported the likes of Fickle Friends, Picture This, Sunset Sons and Clean Cut Kid. His band recently released new single Flowers, the first in a trio of releases via LAB Records. Where two previous EPs have drawn upon Chad’s attachment to the stunning landscape and industrial decline around his home in Mars@georgian_stcktn ke-by-the-Sea; growing up and moving on, fighting the loss of youthful optimism, pursuing long-term ambitions whilst trying to maintain vital friendships and family ties, Flowers’ wholesome balearic rock is more broadly optimistic and uplifting, with its layered instrumentation and undeniable pop hooks paving the way for future endeavours.

Some tweaks to the full band line-up and further personal development on the production side of things, not to mention recently being awarded the prestigious Alan Hull Award for North East songwriters, means Chad will remain very much in demand and the special Christmas show at Georgian Theatre on Saturday 23rd December continues a recent Teesside tradition supporting the region’s rising stars. Support on the night comes from fellow up-and-coming Teessiders Llovers and the sublime ghost-folk of Choir of Ghosts.
