Following up a beautiful performance from Scottish shoegazers Wozniak earlier in the year, the brains behind I Love My Brick have put together another stunning bill at Newcastle’s Head of Steam on Friday 31st May.

London dream pop/indie folk band Blue House headline the night in support of their latest album Gobstopper. Recorded at Total Refreshment Centre and featuring members of Snapped Ankles and Pregoblin amongst their ranks, Blue House conjure up ever so subtly out of focus lullabies that turn nostalgia inside out to expose the grim underbelly of modern Britain.

Also performing on the evening is the ever-impressive Me Lost Me, who’ll also be launching her new EP, The Lay Of The Land, on the same day. With recent shows having found her incorporate a new live set-up and a set of increasingly pointed and pop-focused material that retains the influence of her folk background, it’ll be fascinating to see what her latest effort brings.

Opening up is a mysterious new project, Holofernes. Fronted by Rhys Patterson (also to be found on guitar duties in Slug), Holofernes advise us to expect “a bricolage of clever-but-accessible pop”. Make sure to get yourselves down early to catch this one.
