It’s almost hard to believe that it’s only been four months since Ollie Winn and Charlie Dancer set up their monthly gig night Beyond the Wall; despite it being less than half a year old, it already feels like a staple on the local live music calendar. As usual, for the fourth instalment they’ve managed to get together a jam-packed line up of local and national indie talent.

Street Party In Soho are headlining the event; since bursting back on to the scene in recent months after a short hiatus, the liquid candy afro-pop outfit have gone from strength to strength, becoming an almost ubiquitous force on the local indie music scene. They’re joined by rising Staffordshire indie rockers Parisian Youth Culture, who infectiously danceable rhythms and energetic guitar hooks combine with an intense stage presence to make them one of the hottest emerging live bands around.

They’re joined by fresh Newcastle-based outfit The Pasolas, who are self-proclaimed pioneers of surf-pop, and Harry Clouston, a blissfully melancholic singer-songwriter who splits his time between the toon and Essex. Yet another brilliant line-up filled with some of the country’s best emerging indie acts, it’s set to be another blistering night at the Head of Steam.

Beyond the Wall 4 takes place at the Head of Steam, Newcastle on Friday 27th February.
