Award-winning Building Our Planet Festival returns to Glenholme Park, Crook on Sunday 13th August. Produced by  Jack Drum Arts Youth Board, the free one-day wonderland of live music, art, and street theatre is set around the theme of going green.

There is something there for the whole family, including stalls, carnival games, and creative workshops. There will also be loads of lovely live music on offer with over 15 artists performing. Headlining are three-time Glastonbury performers, Rum Buffalo, We are the Monsters, and Jodie Nicholson.

The festival aims to celebrate our environment by inviting everyone to use the ethos of avoid, reduce, reuse and recycle, to ensure minimum impact on our planet. There will be junk instrument making, art murals, flower garland creating and B.O.P Fest t-shirt designing all with intrinsic links to raising awareness of our planet and the benefits of recycling and reusing.

If you’re interested in participating, the festival is looking for volunteers and people to be involved in our first B.O.P Fest procession. Taking place from 4:45 – 5:45pm, the procession will draw on the Elements incorporating the colours of Earth, Air, Water and Fire and with the input of samba drummers and dancers from Runaway Samba as well as puppets and costumes made from the festivals’ workshop! All are welcome to participate, with the meeting point being in front of the Main Stage at 4:30pm. Wear your colours, bring your instruments and enjoy!
