A slew of top local rock bands play for the first Stay Critical or Die night
The Central Bar, Gateshead, is bringing together four of the North East’s most up and coming bands for it’s Need Music Band Night. All for the low, low price of just £2.
Topping the bill will be the ever impressive Apache Viking, with a sound as intriguing as their name. The quartet from Newcastle rely on driving guitar riffs to hook you in and once you’re there, there’s no turning back as you won’t be able to resist their addictive beat. Well worth the entrance fee alone. Second in command is Newcastle’s own Baker Island. This upbeat “fuzzy pop music” will have you tapping along to the beat, leaving clothes stores scrambling to project them out their PA systems.
Completing the bill are the North East’s Rushers of Din and The Artisans, two bands who love a touch of jangly guitar work in their sound. While everybody loves a low budget, early single release, Rushers of Din have embraced this low quality sound, even going as far describing themselves as “bedroom recorded indie.” The Artisans describe themselves as “old enough to know better but young enough to still try.” Plus, a song entitled However Much I Love You, I Love Honeyghan More has to be worth checking out, surely?
