Sound the horn; the Henry Blofeld of British sports and politics podcast comedy is coming to The Stand in Newcastle on Monday 26th February for a special intimate evening of at arms’ length sarcasm and punnery.

For the uninitiated; Andy Zaltzman is a comedian and author most notable as the other half of podcast The Bugle, which he co-founded with the at-the-time rising comedy star now Emmy awarding winning host of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver. The Bugle has been a fixture of the iTunes most downloaded chart since before podcasting was a thing, much like Zaltzman who has been at the cutting edge of radio, politics and comedy for over two decades. Currently led solo by Andy, The Bugle racks up over five hundred thousand downloads per month.

Dry like the desert at high noon, and with a look that could be best described as Mick Hucknall meets Young Frankenstein, Andy Zaltzman has one of the most unique comedy acts on the circuit. Marrying slick observational humour with an extensive use of puns and cricket references, his new show promises interaction aplenty, with audience members invited to submit ideas up for discussion.
