Teesside-based events company Idle Promotions have managed to pull off an absolute corker of a headline gig this month. They’ve somehow snapped up West Yorkshire’s finest alt. grunge five-piece Allusondrugs, who are set to play Spensley’s Emporium in Middlesbrough on Friday 11th November.

Since signing to Leeds-based independent label Clue Records (which also boasts the likes of NARCS, Trash and Forever Cult) back in 2013, Allusondrugs have been in high demand, whilst building up a hefty fan base and winning plaudits far and wide for their huge, sweaty live performances.

With a no-shit manifesto that describes the masses as brainwashed X Factor viewers, the band are certainly on a mission to wake up the wasters and get them head-banging to a different tune. Latest single Good People is yet another catchy guitar-heavy anthem from the band, stuffed with glam rock riffage and ridiculous, tongue-in-cheek lyrics (“You’re body makes me horny/that’s ok as long as I can be horny with you”). Fan favourites like I Should Have Gone To Uni and Nervous will be something to behold and could easily tear Spensley’s a new one. The gig offers a tasty looking line-up of bands, with rising Teesside lo-fi punks Mouses, Manchester-based rockers Crazer Beam and Stockton trio Idle Violets set to join the Castleford heroes for one big musical bash that it would be stupid to miss.
