One of British folk’s most unique voices, Alasdair Roberts brings his full band to Gosforth Civic Theatre on Sunday 20th October for a night of intricately played and emotionally charged tunes.
Having released solo records on Chicago’s Drag City Records and being part of the award-winning supergroup The Furrow Collective, Roberts’ latest offering The Fiery Margin was released in September so this is a perfect opportunity to get on board with the new stuff.
Having impressed as support to The Delines at Gosforth Civic Theatre back in January, don’t miss out on what is going to be a truly special night. Germany born but Scotland raised, Roberts is one of a rare breed of musicians whose work has found favour with fans of both experimental and avant-garde music as well as traditional folkies. Known primarily for his own songwriting and acoustic fingerstyle performance, he’s also a superb interpreter of traditional songs and ballads from Scotland and beyond. Support on the night comes from Newcastle folkie Yakka Doon.
