Reliably informed

A musician who is something of an underrated gem, Alasdair Roberts, is set to bring his twinkling, folksy songwriting to The Bridge Hotel on Thursday 24th November, with his combination of delicate fingerstyle guitar playing and sincerity-filled vocals set to really impress.

Now 20 years on from his first single release, he’s managed regular outputs of inventive music which draws on traditional folk as a major influence, and takes us through Roberts’ own unique interpretations. Tirelessly gigging, this is a musician who lives all the good the music scene can offer, and his songwriting develops constantly through it. There’s support too from Phil Tyler and Sarah Hill, with music that was built to be played in the most intimate, authentic ways, a magical little evening is surely on the cards.

Alasdair Roberts plays The Bridge Hotel, Newcastle on Thursday 24th November.
