Welcome to the ninth annual NARC. Compilation Album, curated to celebrate our birthday but also to shine a light on some of the amazing local acts we’ve come across. Head over to our Bandcamp site to download your free copy of the album featuring 17 tracks which veer from quirky alt. folk, riotous blues, aggressive rock, disco pop and plenty more besides. You’re welcome.

The loss of The Chapman Family in 2013 was a blow felt more keenly than anyone quite expected it would be, which is probably a symbol of just how underrated a band they were. It was great news, then, when frontman Kingsley Chapman re-emerged with a new project under the moniker Kingsley Chapman & the Murder at the tail end of last year. Olympians is their first recording and a magnificent piece of work. From the unassumingly grandiose piano intro right through to the point where the saxophone kicks in and Kingsley’s crooning like a wounded hero taken down by an arrow on the cusp of glory, this is an enormous piece of music. Consider our appetites well and truly whetted for the next stage of Kingsley Chapman’s musical adventure.
