I love my job. Over the last 14 years I have had the pleasure of running one of the best music venue/pubs in Newcastle. The Ouseburn is a special place to work, with so many brilliant pubs and venues. Music has always been important in my life and I can pretty much pinpoint the most important dates in my life to a piece of music.

Tiffany – I Think We’re Alone Now
I know…right! But this song reminds me of friends and this song reminds them of me! I mean, have you seen the dance routine?

Prince – Alphabet St.
Really this is too hard to choose. This guy was a soundtrack to my teenage years and every song could go on my mixtape. This makes it for the cat rap alone.

The Cure – Lullaby
GCSE revision, smoking tabs up the chimney and a visit to the Mayfair for one of the best gigs ever. I truly loved Robert Smith!

Duran Duran – Hungry Like A Wolf
Dancing around my bedroom with a hairbrush as a microphone!

Hot Chip – Over And Over
Meeting my now husband, Cosmic Ballroom, meeting many a friend and all the dancing!

Beccy Owen – Flower
I have had the pleasure of putting Beccy on at the pub solo and in many a band. This was one of the first songs my daughter knew all the words to and she often falls asleep to this album. Beccy has the most amazing voice and her songs are like no other.

Richard Dawson – I Will Make It Up To You
I could just watch this guy for hours. He has written too many songs that I could put on here, but this is where it started for me. Just an amazing singer-songwriter and a real favourite in our house.

John Grant – GMF
I think I came to John Grant later than most, but now he is up there as a massive favourite. What a voice. What more can you say?

Frankie Valli – The Night
This is first on any playlist. It’s all about the dancing for this tune.

Nicole Willis And The Soul Investigators – If This Ain’t Love
One of those gigs you go to and you’re pretty much the only people there so you have ALL the dance floor. Amazing tunes.

Syd Barrett – Love You
This is the song I want to be played at my funeral.
