Reliably informed

Returning to the Cluny off the back of releasing a stellar EP late last year, L.A. Witch were always destined to set the place alight once again. Although you’d be forgiven for thinking they were beaten to the punch tonight by The Noise and The Naïve, whose raucous set kicked the night off to a riotous start. Tonight they’re on fire with their powerful and upbeat tracks enticing this crowd to quickly lose themselves in their enthusiastic set.

On the other hand, L.A. Witch take an altogether different approach, starting out with a number of slower numbers. With the likes of Brian and Baby in Blue Jeans being particular favourites early on, blissed-out woozy grooves underpin almost the entire first half of their set. It’s a gradual build throughout their set but one which pays off though.

Once the band hit their top gear, the riffs are sharper and the passion in the vocals grows inordinately. With tracks like Kill My Baby Tonight and Get Lost the band’s true snarl and anger reveals itself; this is where L.A. Witch are at their fiercest. They’ve got serious swagger and style and that shows throughout their set but particularly towards the end. As expected though L.A. Witch truly set the Cluny alight again tonight with another incendiary performance.
