Who are you?
I’m Ula Lovell!

What is it you do?
I sing and play piano, but I write dreamy psychedelic rock stuff using my piano and computer.

How long have you been doing it?
I’ve always sang from such a young age; my grandma was a really talented singer so perhaps that’s where my love for singing has come from. I’ve studied music over the past five years but recently just began to explore more distinctive and experimental genres.

What inspires you?
My sole focus when writing my lyrics is to portray the emotions and feelings that I experience on a daily basis. This is because when I listen to music I am captivated by personal and emotive lyrics that I can relate to.

Tell us about your music
My music has been described as unique and authentic with comparisons to artists such as Tame Impala and GUM, which I’m happy about because these are the artists I look up to and take a lot of inspiration from. I love the idea of being a female in today’s music industry and I want to create a strong and unique identity as a solo psychedelic rock artist.

What have you got coming up in the future?
Due to the current circumstances a lot of my plans have been put on hold, however, I’m releasing my debut single on the 12th of June and I’ve got plans to release more music in the near future. Hopefully, once things have settled down, I will start gigging, so keep a lookout for me!
