Reliably informed

Having come through Sunderland’s amazing Young Musician’s Project, up and coming indie rock quartet Rokkari have already enjoyed serious praise, as well as well received shows at the Bunker, The Cluny and Independent. The band release new single Circus on 1st July, and tell us a bit more about themselves…

Who are you and where are you from?

Hi! We are Rokkari, a four-piece rock/indie rock female-fronted band from Sunderland originally formed by We Make Culture’s Young Musicians Project.

What is it you do & how long have you been doing it?

Liv is on lead vocals and guitar, Ava plays lead guitar, Caleb is on the drums, and Indie plays bass. As a band, we write and release new music as well as gig around the North East area. We have been doing this since 2022 and are up and coming artists within Sunderland! As young artists and an up-and-coming local band, we’ve had a sold out headline show at the Bunker, and gigs at the Cluny, the Cumberland Arms, and Independent, as well as featuring on Spark radio.

What inspires you?

We have a very eclectic blend if we’re honest, but we are mainly inspired by Paramore, Foals, Rage Against The Machine and Wolf Alice.

What have you got coming up in the future?

After recently releasing our debut single Home, we were featured in NARC. magazine, NE Volume and The Crack magazine and we were played on Amazing Radio. Our next single Circus was recorded alongside Home at Blank Studios, and is out on 1st July, which we are extremely excited about.

Where can people find out more about you?

We can be found on our social media @Rokkariband, where we announce all upcoming gigs and music releases as well as regular updates on our musical projects and our whereabouts! We’d love if we could get as many people on board with our journey as possible.
