Darlington-based EDM pop songwriter Jamie Dickinson prepares to release his new single, All Over Again, on 24th November. A collab with Amy Mills, it’s the second single to be released from his forthcoming EP, due out early next year. Here, he tells us about his music and inspirations.

Who are you and where are you from?

My name is Jamie Dickinson and I am from Middlesbrough but currently based in Darlington.

What is it you do?

I am an electro pop singer songwriter.

How long have you been doing it?

Since I can remember, I started singing lessons at the age of three with a local singing teacher, Paula Day. I ended up loving it ever since. I started self teaching myself production and songwriting during my teenage years as I found it was a way to express myself unlike ever before which is the catalyst for my passion today.

What inspires you?

My parents inspire me a lot, they have sacrificed so much for me in order for me to pursue my career. I think music in general has inspired me through what it has been able to help me through. Whenever I’ve been down I was always able to put on some music and help me feel better for example.

Tell us about your music

My aim is to take my personal stories along with my passion for EDM and pop music to create songs that people can relate to and dance to hopefully at the same time. I released my first ever EP back in March of this year after appearing on ITV’s Starstruck as well as a remix of my friend Ali Gilberts Set Me Free. I also released a single back in October called Thief In The Night.

What have you got coming up in the future?

I have a single out on 24th November called All Over Again featuring Amy Mills. I also have a second EP due out early next year which will be my first EP after graduating Berklee College Of Music so I’m excited for it.
