Who are you?
Hi, I’m Georgia Lee and I’m a 21 year old Singer/Songwriter from Newcastle Upon Tyne. I’m currently studying for my BA(Hons) in Music at University and happen to pull pints on the side when I’m not performing.

What is it you do?
I create Neo-Soul inspired tracks that typically have a funky edge and a big helping of dramatic power vocal.

How long have you been doing it?
After spending my teenage years performing in various cover bands for some quick cash in hand, in early 2019 I felt inspired to do something that had always seemed intimidating yet exciting and began performing and releasing the music that I had been writing for years in my bedroom. The response was beyond what I could have imagined! I’ve been singing since I was 9 and gigging from 14 but there’s something special within performing original music I’ve only recently discovered.

What inspires you?
I’m in complete awe of powerful women in the industry such as Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera and Cher (to name a few) who not only own their brass voices and image but are recognised for their blunt and almost playful lyrical content too. Real-life experiences inspire my lyrics fully as I feel happier with my work knowing that not only can I personally relate but others can too.

Tell us about your music.
I’d best describe it as soul and funk-inspired songs with a lot of heart which verges on the lyrically blunt side, almost cheeky from time to time. I like to pursue deeper meaning in a lot of my songs whether that be metaphorically or straight to the point so that everyone can find something to relate to when listening. My songs vary about love and relationships, mental health, nightlife and many things that most 20-something-year-olds happen to experience as we try and ‘figure it all out’.

What have you got coming up in the future?
I’ve got my second single coming out! On March 30th, Why Cry? will be available to stream and download on all platforms and I’m so excited! This tune is more so a ballad than something big and dramatic as per my usual go to but I can’t wait to hear what people think!

I’m slowing down ever so slightly after a huge year last year but I’m still easy to find and the possibility of an EP is being considered in the future!

Where can people find out more about you?
I’m on all the main social platforms; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube where you’ll easily be able to access any new gig dates, releases, covers and updates on what I’m doing! Let me know what you think and drop a comment or even message me, I don’t bite!
