Tuesday 6th June
FILM Mindhorn @ ARC, Stockton
From the brilliant mind Julian Barratt, comes Mindhorn, the tale of washed-up actor Richard Thorncroft who peaked with hit 1980s detective show ‘Mindhorn’, playing the titular Isle of Man sleuth with a rather unique ability.

COMEDY Reginald D Hunter @ Tyne Theatre & Opera House, Newcastle
Having moved to the UK over 20 years ago, Hunter joins a number of like-minded comics who have crossed the Atlantic in search of a better class of audience. Good for us, because his brand of comedy is like nothing else on the circuit: raw, close to the bone, cerebral and often ingenious. Read Joe Fowler’s full preview here.
Thursday 8th June
COMEDY Mr Shindig’s Laughter Store @ The Cumberland Arms, Newcastle
It’s an election special this week, so after you’ve been a good egg and been to cast your vote, your Thursday evening can be spent in the company of some top comedy talent. Regular hosts Hal Branson and Joby Mageean introduce Seymour Mace, Simon Donald, Stuart Edwards, Liberty Hodes, Liam Elcoat and Ben Crompton.

Working class and middle-upper class worlds come together in Fassbinder’s sharp look at class conflict within the gay world. Fassbinder stars as the title character, an innocent, not-very-smart working-class gay guy who wins the lottery and is adopted into a group of wealthy, hypocritical homosexual men. Horrified by his lack of etiquette but attracted to his fortune, Fox is exploited and abused by all.
