Our writer Lee Fisher recaps his 2021
So, how was your 2021?
Pretty much a rerun of 2020 but with added health scares, benefit cuts and frustration. #goodtimes

Richard Dawson at Brave Exhibitions
And your worst moment?
It’s so hard to pick from so many compelling contenders

Low continue to be a genuinely remarkable and powerful shining light in the darkness. I’m absolutely serious about this.
Your favourite song of the year?
Crimi – Chi Ci Talia (and its mesmerising video)
Recommended album?
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble – This Is A Mindfulness Drill, a heartburstingly lovely reworking of Richard Youngs’ Saffie album
Favourite TV show of the year?
Succession, predictably but necessarily.
Your favourite film?
Fiction – I sincerely can’t choose between First Cow and Petite Maman
Documentary – Summer Of Soul, possibly the best music film I’ve ever seen
Best book you read?
Fiction – Andrew O’Hagan’s Mayflies
Non-Fiction – Viv Albertine’s To Throw Away Unopened
Best podcast?
I don’t really know what podcasts are for.

My bath. (Oh okay, Cluny 2.)
What was your favourite gig/show of the year?
Richard Dawson at Brave Exhibitions
Any upcoming artists we should keep an eye out for in 2022?
The Exbats must surely achieve world domination? Anything but a band of skinny lads holding their guitars too high and singing about getting dumped.
Any predictions for next year?
It ain’t gonna get better, lads.
Bet you’re glad you asked now.
