Five favourites from singer-songwriter Joe Fox
Ahead of his show at Newcastle’s Think Tank Underground on Friday 10th March, soulful singer-songwriter Joe Fox told us five of his favourite things.
Iggy Pop – The Passenger
This song made me hear sound as colours. It’s a visual sound. Like a lot of David Bowie produced music it’s almost like a painting.
Etta James – I’d Rather Go Blind
A vocal performance from space. Singing from the gut. Watching her perform it live is like watching an exorcism. Beautiful.
Waking Life by Richard Linklater
A dream like surrealist movie. Lot’s of philosophical discussions and interesting questions raised by this movie. Definitely worth seeing.
1984 by George Orwell
A warning. An Allegory. Perfect.
Newspapers
I read a lot. Newspapers. Juice Cartons. Penguin Classics. It’s all fair game.
