Reliably informed

We caught up with rock and rollers Twisted Wheel ahead of their appearance at O2 Academy Newcastle on Friday 9th November.

So, tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?
I’m called Jon or Jonny and I’m a song writer and people say rock n’ roll star. I front Twisted Wheel and play guitars. I’ve been known to be next level mental but I’m a little more chilled out these days.

What’s the first record you ever bought?
It was The Beatles’ Blue Album and I Should Be So Lucky by Kylie Minogue.

What’s your guilty pleasure musically?
Probably Queen.

Favourite film of all time?
Either A Clockwork Orange or Withnail And I.

Your guilty pleasure film?
Muppets Christmas Carol.

If you could recommend one TV series to binge watch, what would it be?
I loved The Wire. It’s not for everyone but it’s right up my street. Watching Game Of Thrones at the moment though.

Your favourite book?
England’s Dreaming.

Who or what makes you laugh the most?
My mate Matt the mill who thinks he’s a wizard.

Who or what makes you sad?
People losing everything to addiction and not getting the right help. Left wingers who don’t realise they’re actually right wing.
Not hitting my aims in life when I get the vision.
Bullies.

If you had super power, what would it be?
I’d be invisible or able to write lyrics as good as Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.

And finally, you get to play a board game with any three famous people from history, who do you choose and what’s the board game?
Russian Roulette with a real revolver with Harry Styles, Biffy Clyro and Simon Cowell. It would be intense. Let the legend live I say.

Twisted Wheel play O2 Academy Newcastle on Friday 9th November.
