We get to know Mike Peters of The Alarm a little better ahead of an appearance with The Alarm at The Georgian Theatre in Stockton on Friday 21st June.

So, tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?
My name is Mike Peters and I’m lead singer of The Alarm and also co-founder of Love Hope Strength Cancer Foundation. I am 3 times cancer survivor myself but am in robust health now and looking forward to a year of live dates with The Alarm including a forty date summer tour of North America followed by Iceland Rock – a Love Hope Strength hike to raise funds for our various life saving missions.

What’s the first record you ever bought?
Aladdin Sane by David Bowie.

What’s your guilty pleasure musically?
The Bee Gees.

Favourite film of all time?
The Godfather.

Your guilty pleasure film?

If you could recommend one TV series to binge watch, what would it be?
The Sopranos – all life is represented.

Your favourite book?
The Magus – John Fowles.

Who or what makes you laugh the most?
My wife Jules… she’s hilarious and always sees the funny side of life (of which there are many).

Who or what makes you sad?
Seeing people I know lose the will to live.

If you had super power, what would it be?
To cure cancer.

And finally, you get to play a board game with any three famous people from history, who do you choose and what’s the board game?
George Best, Bobby Moore and Pele – Subbuteo.
