Ahead of her appearance at Tynemouth’s Surf Cafe on Friday 23rd November, we caught up with pop songstress Lyla Foy to find out a little bit more about her.

So, tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?
I write minimal pop music and play a variety of instruments.

What’s the first record you ever bought?
I’m going to say Wet Wet Wet Picture This.

What’s your guilty pleasure musically?
Taylor Swift, but I feel no shame. I have no desire to make that kind of music but it’s amazing.

Favourite film of all time?
Lost in Translation.

Your guilty pleasure film?
Anything with Meg Ryan!

If you could recommend one TV series to binge watch, what would it be?
Bojack Horseman.

Your favourite book?
Patti Smith – Just Kids.

Who or what makes you laugh the most?
Will Ferrell.
