Reliably informed

We get to know electronic music maker Calm C a little better.

So, tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?
I’m a music producer and multi/instrumentalist originally from Belfast now living in Newcastle, after spending years and years playing in bands of all sorts I’ve decided to put together a solo live electronic show consisting of  music I’ve been writing behind the scenes.

What’s the first record you ever bought?
Oh god, Eifel 65- Blue (Da Ba Dee).

What’s your guilty pleasure musically?
Hardcore Irish rebel songs…

Favourite film of all time?
Really really enjoyed Bladerunner 2049.

Your guilty pleasure film?
Alien Vs Predator, I don’t feel too guilty about it tho, its class.

If you could recommend one TV series to binge watch, what would it be?
I really liked the BBC series The Railway: Keeping Britain On Track really interesting insight into the railways, and I know, I know it’s boring but I don’t care I love trains.

Your favourite book?
The Bridge by Ian Banks, READ IT.

Who or what makes you laugh the most?
Daft Geordies in the Grainger market.

Who or what makes you sad?
Seeing people eating alone in public, they look very vulnerable.

If you had super power, what would it be?
There’s loads of daft things I could choose but really I’d just like to be able to fly around space at light speed.

And finally, you get to play a board game with any three famous people from history, who do you choose and what’s the board game?
I’d like to play dungeons and dragons with Dylan Moran, Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Gandalf (he’d be the gamesmaster and could make it all real and come to life).
