We caught up with alt indie pop band Deep Sleep ahead of their gig at The Cluny on Sunday 16th December as part of The Rookery‘s Christmas Party which features a mammoth jam session and a whole load of fun. Here, the band talk to us about their festive memories…

Ben: I think mine is my Mam trying to force me and my sister to sprinkle “reindeer dust” on the front step to make sure Santa spots the house, then getting cross cause we won’t and then does it herself.

Conor: Last year I sat in my pyjamas with the heating racked up and drank a bottle of prosecco and ate a 25-piece Iceland party selection to myself.

Band: Ghost//Signals Xmas gig 2018 – hoping it’ll become an annual tradition in the future with loads of mates in bands playing in December for a big party gig.

Dan: I love when my mam transitions from having a big multipack of crisps in the cupboard to having bowls of crisps in the house. Why are nice jumpers a prerequisite to having nice things? Pigs in blankets too, alllllll the pigs in blankets

Snazy: The Christmas tradition at Snazy HQ is home cooking. Anything from biscuits, cakes, mince pies, to Yule logs. It’s always nice to be able to make these things yourself instead of buying it. Its extra special when it has the personal touch. And you’ve gotta love a Christmas special on the tele! I remember getting tipsy on Baileys (who of guessed it?) while watching the Christmas edition of Father Ted, The Vicar of Dibley, and Steptoe & Son!
