Reliably informed

The last twelve months have had the NARC Magazine pages filled with the best creative talent, so we asked a few of them to be kind enough to share some words on the year coming to a close. Next up, it’s glorious alt noise makers A Festival A Parade‘s Joe Fowler.

So, how was your 2018?
2018 has been great. We’ve released an EP and travelled the UK in support of Sam Fender, gaining a bunch of new friends and fans along the way. It’s been a lot of fun.

What was your best moment?
There’s a lot to choose from this year. We’ve got so many fond memories from touring and recording this year. However, the best moment for us this year has to be supporting Mastersystem at The Cluny. Sharing a stage with Scott Hutchison and getting the chance to chat to him about music and have a laugh with him is a memory that we will all cherish forever I think.

And your worst moment?
Spilling two full pints of lager on Will from PLAZA at The Great Escape this summer.

Your favourite band of the year?
Big Red Machine.

Your favourite song of the year?
(I Have A) Little Secret by Team Picture.

Favourite TV of the year?
Ozark on Netflix. Absolutely radge.

Your favourite film?

Favourite venue of the year?
Thekla in Bristol. It’s on a boat!

What was your favourite gig of the year?
As a band, I think our show at Newcastle Uni with Sam Fender last month was pretty special. That’s the biggest crowd we’ve ever played to (1,500), and it was really nice looking around and seeing so many friendly faces enjoying our stuff. Sam puts on an amazing show, too.
As a gig-goer, it has to be Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds in Barcelona this Summer. He’s such a phenomenal songwriter and performer, that was an unforgettable gig!

And finally, what has 2019 got in store for you?
Well, we kickstart 2019 with our biggest headline show to date at Sage Gateshead, which we’re very excited for! After that expect to hear lots of new music from us, and lots more shows all over the place throughout the year!
