Middlesbrough’s multi-venue music festival Twisterella returns this Saturday with over 40 of the brightest and best emerging artists descending on Teesside for one of the region’s best loved events.
This year, we’re proud to be partnering with the Twisterella team to present pop-up sessions in some of Boro’s coolest bars including The Twisted Lip, Alchemy & Co and Sticky Fingers. The pop-up stages are free entry, but priority access will be given to Twisterella wristband holders.
Italian folk-pop artist Damien McFly leads the way and will be performing not one but two sets, firstly in The Bottled Note at 4.30pm and secondly in Sticky Fingers at 6.30pm.

“Damien totally blow us away when he supported Gill Landry at the Westgarth Social Club earlier this year, so we’re delighted that he’s able to make it over for Twisterella,” said festival co-promote Andy Carr.
Other artists performing at the pop-ups include local favourites Dressed Like Wolves, Bruto and Nel Unlit, who will all be performing special stripped back sets, as will a handful of acts from the main Twisterella line-up. Hotly tipped London quartet Childcare will be playing what promises to be an absolutely unmissable acoustic gig in Alchemy & Co at 6pm and north east treasures Cape Cub will be in The Twisted Lip at 5pm.
The pop-up sessions will be started and finished by two very special guests who will be announced at 12noon on Saturday via Twisterella’s social media. Additionally, as part of the first annual National Album Day, Ta Moko are hosting a playback of This Is My Ship by seminal Teesside trio DARTZ! at 3.33pm.
