Reliably informed

After spending five years as a solo artist, Newcastle-based singer-songwriter Sarah Connolly has now acquired a small band to beef up her sound, which has allowed her to switch to a new alt-pop sound. Her latest single demonstrating this change of direction drops today.

Wishing Bone is a song about a half-committed and rocky relationship and is an ethereal feast of tender melodies with notes of Nashville and dream-pop elements reminiscent of Mazzy Star.

It would be somewhere really high up. Like on a rooftop bar … or a giant hot air balloon! Time would stand still at blue hour throughout the whole gig, so we’re all surrounded by a multi-coloured sky. There’d be a teeny chill in the air, so all our cheeks are a little bit pink, but warm enough to be okay with just a denim jacket.

Only two drinks on the menu (both free all night): Pina Coladas with sparklers, umbrellas and one of those little nakey Greek gods on a stirrer and tequila shots with salt, lime and worms for the brave. Gino D’Acampo would be giving away giant Yorkshire puddings filled with mince and dumplings and carrot cake for pudding.

The line up:
-Norah Jones
-Phoebe Bridgers
-Maggie Rogers
-Yours Truly! (me)
