Sunderland singer-songwriter, Eve Cole drops her latest single Spare A Soul, a nonchalantly cool effort with soulful staccato vocals, ethereal melodies and guitar-driven soundscapes that Alex Turner would be proud of.

Here, the artist describes what her perfect show would look like…

My dream show would definitely have to be at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London. I remember walking past there a few years ago and seeing people lined up for streets waiting to see Cavetown, and begging my Mam to buy a last minute ticket from the (definitely dodgy) resellers on the door! The thrill of live music in a venue like that is unmatched, it’s a perfect balance between lively and intimate.

I love the kind of gig that makes you feel like you’re in a dream, with just the right amount of smoke machine and colourful spotlights, so I would definitely incorporate those. I’d ideally have a stage big enough to run around and interact with the crowd, but still be able to come back to my band members to enjoy doing what we love together.

In my mind it would smell like lavender or vanilla, something calming to go along with the reverb on the slower songs, but not distract from the bigger ones. Although I know in a packed standing venue that definitely wouldn’t be the case.

On the complete opposite end of the scale, I’d love to be able to do an orchestral arrangement of one of my songs one day! Somewhere like the royal Albert hall. I had the opportunity to perform there with my youth choir when I was 11- definitely daunting, but such a beautiful place!
