Reliably informed

If you love the arts, crafts, music, food and a spot of camping but fancy something a little bit different and exotic, then you can’t go wrong with this year’s Harambee Pasadia festival, taking place in Barnard Castle between Friday 22nd and Monday 25th May.

Created by Hanabiell Sanders and Yilis Suriel, the festival has consistently brought a diverse range of African cultures and fusions to the region and this year is no different. On the bill this year are artists as diverse as Dennis Rollins & Funky Funk, Ray Harris & The Fusion Experience, Manding Kabou Trio, King Bee, Lindsay Hannon Plus and Ladies of Midnight Blue. There’s also a whole host of workshops, including hip hop fitness, West African drumming, Cuban salsa dancing, graffiti and a junk instrument workshop.

We’re offering the chance for one lucky person to win a pair of tickets to this year’s event and experience everything that the African diaspora has to offer.

All you have to do is answer this question: what does Harambee Pasadia mean?

A.) Come together and relax
B.) Come together and pass the time
C.) Come together and pass the day

To enter, send your name, email address and your answer to: [email protected]

The deadline for the competition is Friday 15th May at 5pm. Answers received after this time won’t be counted into our prize draw. We will contact the winner via email on Saturday 16th May.

Good luck!
