Performing on the NARC. Green Room stage at Stockton Calling on Saturday 31st March, Middlesbrough hip-hop star Dylan Cartlidge tells us about his passion for horror movies

Any horror fans that haven’t seen these, gotta jump on it!

1. Ginger Snaps (2000)
One of my all time favourite horror movies, super late 90s/early 00s, Werewolf flick, Emily Perkins and Katherine Isabelle killed it! It hasn’t aged beautifully and never was going to win any Oscars but it’s just a fun, cool, well done movie for me.

2. Dawn Of The Dead (2002 Remake)
The original is sweet, you have to see it. George A. Romero is the god of all zombie films as all horror fans will know! Now this, this was a hella cool film, that scared the living flip flops out of me when I when a kid and still does! Directed by Zack Snyder (before we was slaying big budget Superhero movies) spearheaded the fabulous homage and remake with some rollercoaster action, madness and a classy nod to The Shining.

3. The Thing (1982)
Stevie Wonder is on the soundtrack…nuff said.

4. The Tunnel (2011)
As what starts off as a found footage documentary on the homeless living in the underground sewers, quickly turns into nightmarish frightfest of the tallest order – such a gem if you haven’t seen it. I rarely watch films again but I’ve seen this a few times.

5. The Host (2006)
This is a South Korean flick by the same brother that did Snowpiecer and Okja. It’s soooooo sooooo goood. It’s flooded with that quirky and wonderful style that is synonymous with so many east-Asian Horror in recent times, especially South Korea, and the music is something to behold!
