It’s a complex release; deadpan, emotional, darkly humorous with a meta-like consciousness of itself reflecting its progenitor’s band and life experiences. Their most collaborative production coming from the once coupled Rachel Brown and Nate Amos is as musically intricate as the lives they lead in their post-pandemic brutally consumerist, capitalist hellscape.

It’s polyrhythmic, atonal, melodic and full of dichotic meaning, a craftily intimate yet brash mix-up of guitars and electronics backed by sophisticated rhythms that constantly mutate, keeping it alive and agitating. Stand-out track True Life is the song that yearned to contain lyrics from Cinnamon Girl pleads with Neil to let them sing his song. Here there are no happy endings, but I’ll buy their product regardless.
