London’s experimental noise trio’s latest album is an excellent blending of their previous releases. Instead of ‘songs’, the album is more a collection of small sonic experiments which drift right across the space of electronica, jolting, stuttering and looping unexpectedly – never letting you settle. However, this insistence on fractured sounds creates a consistent atmosphere of menace, more unnerving than most. The beauty of Country Music is that it’s an album which at times feels entirely impersonal, yet specifically for you; like you’ve wandered into an abandoned house and there they are playing, and you just can’t leave. Do not listen if you want an easy time (and especially if you want Country Music).
