Reliably informed

Released: 14.06.19

One of the defining bands of my adolescence, I was excited to see whether Two Door Cinema Club had grown up alongside its original fan base. Fortunately their sense of fun endures, but has definitely matured. Now more Jack Daniels than Frosty Jacks, False Alarm is a fantastic record, perhaps even surpassing their debut.

It’s obvious why Talk was the lead single, with some playful lyricism interrupted only by a gorgeous bass line, it sounds as if Hot Chip’s fingerprints are all over it, and I really can’t think of any higher compliment for this particular strain of indie pop. The album starts strongly with Once, and the standard never drops. Essential.
