If the title of New York’s garage punk band THICK were a question I’d probably retort ‘yeah’.

Why? Well Happy Now is an enjoyable adventure, front to back. The group have refined their sound from their last LP, as the opener Happiness instantly reins the listener in with its catchy core melody. I imagine it being an instant crowd pleaser, similar to Loser with its booming drums and Wants And Needs with how it crashes throughout the song – all bolstered by some creative lyricism.

I’d be lying if I said I was hooked on the full album, there’s plenty of room for the band to break the genre barriers they’re in, and a few tracks felt like they were there to pad out the tracklisting than to say anything meaningful.
