For their third LP, LA-based quartet The Regrettes have ditched their garage rock meets doo-wop sound for a poppy summer soundtrack vibe, full of tracks like Out Of Time where you can feel the breeze in your hair whilst driving with the top down. Occasionally, they find their former alternative selves like on the manic Monday, which is all grunge meets Charli XCX.

For the most part, however, it’s an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink melting pot of pop like the breathless La Di Da, whilst Subtleties is so daydreamy it actually features birds tweeting. You’re So Fucking Pretty perfectly encapsulates the awkward confusion of a first same-sex crush and Better Now is an instant sing-a-long but fans may regret the loss of that punkier edge.
