The Last Shadow Puppets’ Everything You’ve Come To Expect sees Owen Pallett’s trademark cinematic strings make a welcome return to soften Alex Turner’s style.

Lead single Bad Habits is a jaunty affair (and the best track on the album) but is far from an echo of the whole album. Miracle Aligner has a Suck It And See Arctic Monkeys vibe, while tracks like Dracula Teeth and She Does The Woods give nods to troubadours like Richard Hawley.

Littered with avant garde lyricism, fans will enjoy some sublime compositions, but ultimately it’s an album which feels more like a side project than the band’s debut; a bit too much like an album of left-overs from the last eight years.
