It may have taken seven years for Taking Back Sunday’s eighth album to appear, but apparently this one has been in the incubator since 2019. In taking four years to create an album that they are happy with, the band have developed something that’s mature and credible. Whilst the tracks will fit in the existing catalogue, it is not just more of the same vibe. Clearly, the time has given the band an opportunity to reflect.

You still have the sing along choruses in the likes of Juice 2 Mix, yet there is a nice mix between the anthemic room-filling songs that will be great to dance to and the more introspective numbers to chill to. 152 is a pop-punk masterclass.
