Released: 17.03.17

The sonic reinvention of 2014’s They Want My Soul blossoms here into a colossal hybrid of dissonance and absurdist funk. Britt Daniel remains one of the most unique voices and one of the most gifted songwriters of the past twenty years, further leading the band’s sound into new territory.

The production from fellow sonic maverick Dave Fridmann allows the band to fully engage with a new sonic palette where instruments are manipulated into discordant and infectiously singular shapes. More in touch with the madcap unpredictability of 2010’s Transference than anything else in the band’s exceptional back catalogue, Hot Thoughts is another bold masterpiece from a unique and gifted outfit who continue to sound utterly unlike any band before or since.
