Reliably informed

Released: 21.02.20

When a band shares both the songwriting and vocal duties there is scope for a much more varied collection of songs to be put together. This is the case in the latest offering from Spinning Coin, who were originally from Glasgow but now find themselves split due to the UK’s visa policies. As two members now find themselves in Berlin you’d perhaps expect a less coherent album, but their psychedelic power pop is sharp and dynamic.

Upbeat jingly jangly notes bounce over positive lyrics in an album that would be well placed as the soundtrack to the Spring as the nights become lighter. As Rachel Taylor states in Black Cat “It’s gonna be alright.” A welcoming, happy smiley musical trip.
