Having already produced two records of ultra-concise, addictive dance punk, Eva Moolchan’s third record as Sneaks finds her expanding the purview of the project whilst retaining the spare, snarky charm of her previous work.

Dipping further into hip-hop sound design, Highway Hypnosis beefs up the production values and variety significantly, as heard to brilliant effect on Ecstasy and the trollishly short Holy Cow Never Seen A Girl Like That. Moolchan’s nagging, insistent melodies and playful vocals add a welcome surrealism to proceeds – a track like Money Don’t Grow On Trees ends up as a vision of M.I.A. minus the self-seriousness. Jumping through a whole host of ideas and forms in under half an hour, this strange and wonderful album deserves serious appreciation.
