Rose Greenfield reviews the debut release from the Newcastle band
Kaleidoscope Records
Released: 26.02.16
The local alt. pop group are riding the wave of success after recently being named as The Guardian’s New Band of the Week, as well as receiving heady praise from the likes of Zane Lowe; it seems the group are hot property right now.
The entire album is a perky reminder of fun, carefree, head-bopping pop with sweet melodies; Shields’ first offering is a great example of an oh-so-slick and dynamic modern synth-pop album showcasing broad influences. Luckily, even post production, they manage to retain their irrepressible boundless energy.
