With a mix of ‘next big thing’ reviews and comparisons to the likes of The Libertines and The View, it could have proved too much for high-energy rock ‘n’ roll outfit Shambolics when pulling their debut together. Thankfully any pressure seems to have missed the band as the album arrives with rollocking indie rock smothered in distortion and full of confident swagger.

Combining minimalist bangers as heard on the likes of Attention and Everything You Should’ve Done with gentler moments like Daily Dosage, Dreams, Schemes & Young Teams is a triumphant debut for a band with genuine attitude and a devil-may-care ethos. Anomaly Tambourine Tam stands out, with its Digsy’s Diner-style and combination of The Specials, The Sweet and Beach Boys party sound.
