A pop-tinged surf rock release from the Belfast trio
Boo Clap
Released: 08.01.16
Soft Days is Belfast trio Sea Pinks’ second album and the first conceived as a three piece. There’s a purpose about the bass lines on the album driving the band forward and enabling the kind of reverb-drenched surf-rock influenced guitar which has been huge in 2015.
The guitar on Trend When You’re Dead offers a glimpse of a more heartfelt side to Sea Pinks but ultimately Brogan’s deadpan delivery belies some of the intricacy beneath it. Foot-tapper Yr Horoscope is the best track on the album featuring another ‘baggies, sandals and surfboards’ bass line and a chorus you can comfortably imagine a festival crowd singing along to.
For fans of: The Drums, The Chills and pop-tinged surf rock.
