Rose Cousins’ self-produced follow up to 2017’s Natural Conclusion conveys a gentle majestic reflection of modern living; a life in which accountability is manifest, in which we use our phones to share our innermost feelings and to maintain lists of what we all need to do. Lyrically the album feels not just personal to the artist but also to the listener. As tracks like The Return (Love Comes Back) shuffle along, one is swept away in a pleasant journey which is easily recognisable and familiar.

Piano and guitar remain in the background as Cousins’ vocals are allowed to resonate around. Bravado is emotional, cathartic country music and the perfect antidote to the stresses of modern life.
