If modern punk rock is so often a conservative oxymoron, then thank heavens for free thinking acts like Robocobra Quartet.

An Irish collective with a fluctuating line-up, they ignore the expected musical parameters of punk to stay true to the spirit. Mixing jagged, dub-inflected bass lines, raucous horn sections, Tom Waits balladry, spoken word poetry and anything else they can lay their hands on, Robocobra Quartet are a glorious collision of different elements that shouldn’t work but proves compelling and magnetic in the mix.

This brief album wheels through sounds and ideas at a whirlwind pace, touching on the polemical (Problem Solver), the comical (Nice Life) and the philosophical (Album Of The Year), proving themselves a remarkably exciting new band in the process.
