Post-punk doesn’t really get across the richness of what Qlowski are all about, aside from being a description that potentially disregards how much they stretch out far beyond those woolly boundaries, sculpting as they have well-defined experimental guitar-based art full of purpose; so forget post-punk, it means nothing here.

Originally hailing from Italy but now London-based, they deliver a debut full of energy and dissonant vigour for a future (What Future/s?) that frustratingly could be. Currently doing the promo rounds, A Woman sees Cecilia Corapi up front, insightfully channelling Poly Styrene, sharing vocals throughout the release with Michele Tellarini that gives the whole a united sound, exploring equality, possibilities and simply living. Essential stuff, really.
