As soon as you hit play, Same As You will fill you with glowing positivity. The follow up to the Mercury Prize nominated In Each And Every One, Polar Bear’s latest release is another exercise in epic experimentation.

Band leader Seb Rochford’s complex rhythms are ever present, his drums clattering through the record, yet never sounding the same from one moment to the next. Woozy saxophones trill over simple double bass lines. Electronics wash over the instruments in layers of warm static.

Despite unusual compositions and the odd discordant jazz howl, Polar Bear keep the toe-tapping energy throughout. This album is like some kind of weird soup, deliciously strange and beautifully colourful, warming you from the inside out.
