Sometimes it’s hard to work out what – and who – a record is actually for, and this is one such occasion. Pharoah Overlord (and Circle, for that matter) have long embraced camp, and their last album was essentially motorik metal (to sometimes exhilarating effect). 6 ups the ante on all that and throws in some suitably growly vocals from Aaron Turner (Sumac) to doom it up even more. But it falls flat on all counts.

It doesn’t work as EBM, it certainly doesn’t work as metal, and Laibach do a far better job at mashing up all these elements anyway (if for very different reasons). There are some fun moments and I hope they had a riot in the studio but I’ll stick with Norwegian Reggaeton.
