Seattle band Pearl Jam have been around for decades. They have an established sound and in this, their twelfth album, you have an album that matches up, sonically, to their creative debut, Ten. Eddie Vedder’s sultry lyrical delivery weaves over the alluring guitar work from rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard and lead guitarist Mike McCready. With opener Scared of Fear you have a big rock number, but the album also has the classic quiet songs that build up to a big finish and those quieter ballads in the Pearl Jam style.

So whilst this album is not groundbreaking, lyrically it feels a lot more positive than some of their darker early output. The many fans will love the energy and passion that permeates each track.
