We Are Busy Bodies

Released: 16.10.20

This is the debut solo effort from Michael Scott Dawson, a Canadian ambient artist who has worked in the past with Jon Neher to create some truly beautiful simple ‘slow’ music, and this release is very much in the same vein. After a bout of vertigo Scott Dawson rediscovered his passion for music writing; experimenting with the minutiae found amongst field recordings that added subtle flavours and nuances to his ‘close listening’ creations.

Tonal generative soundscapes float with barely discernable guitars, pianos and synthesisers, along with the everyday and seemingly mundane spaces he found himself in, using objects, tapes and even bicycles. Definitely a headphone indulgence for a long journey or even a leisurely cycle around Saskatchewan.
